President: Bruce Walton, Ed.D.

Bruce is currently an independent consultant. His focus is on technology strategy development and HR transformation. Previous to that, he spent over 11 years at Watson Wyatt as a senior consultant in the technology practice, first in San Diego and then in San Francisco. While at Watson Wyatt, Bruce worked with companies such as JPMorgan Chase, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Genentech, Gateway, Cisco Systems and Gap Inc. to help them develop and implement their HR technology strategies and exploit the web as a vehicle for employee and manager self-service.

Prior to joining Watson Wyatt, Bruce spent more than 25 years in both public and corporate educational settings. He worked with companies such as IBM, Federal Express, and Allstate Insurance to help them develop and implement technology-based systems to improve the knowledge and skills of their workers. He has wide experience consulting with senior managers about their employees’ training and development issues.

For over ten years, Bruce held a number of interactive design, consulting, and senior manager roles at Spectrum Interactive, a custom development subsidiary of NETg. He began his career as a teacher and held both teaching and administrative positions in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. He holds an undergraduate degree in English from Dickinson College, in Carlisle, PA and a master’s degree and doctorate from Boston University, with specialties in reading and language development.

CFO: Jenny Park

Jenny is the Human Resources Application Developer at VSP-Vision Care, where she has been employed for 10 years. Her main focus at VSP is deploying HR technology strategies and process improvement efforts. As a member of the organization's few "self-directed work teams", Jenny brings HR systems expertise to her 5-member team of analysts. Having worked in the HR field for 15 years, Jenny also has generalist and compensation experience. Prior employment to VSP, includes PCL, Logistix and VISA. She started her professional career as a Food Service Manager for Marriott Food Service.

Jenny holds an undergraduate degree from Cal Poly in Nutritional Science; Master's in Business Administration from San Francisco State University; Certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR); and a member of IHRIM for over five years.

Secretary: Laura McKay

Laura is currently HRIS Analyst at CRC HealthGroup.

Laura has been involved in Human Resources and HRIS for 11 years as an HR Generalist, Compensation and Benefits Analyst, and HRIS Analyst. Her interest and expertise in data collection, process development, and data management strategies has led to improved data integration among HRMS, recruiter, career management, and benefits databases, as well as adding process functionality and improving reporting capability.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and the HR Generalist Certificate from San Jose State University Professional Development. She is currently certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Laura has been a member of IHRIM since 2004.


Strategy Chair
: Nov Omana

Nov has been in the HR Technology arena for over 30 years. He has assisted numerous companies in structuring their HR systems to address and solve their business challenges.

He recently joined TriNet as Product Manager to develop and launch their HR BPO offering to the mid-market companies. TriNet is the leading outsourcing company for the small business market, serving three distinct industries: technology, financial services, and professional services. Companies within these industries gain economies of scale by aggregating with over 1,000 firms, representing over 20,000 employees in TriNet's customer base, to access and deploy premium benefits, payroll, and HR services.

Previous to joining TriNet, he launched a small business for HR Technology and Strategy consulting, Collective HR Solutions, LLC, in San Francisco. The business consists of consulting, contractor placement, and partnering with other small businesses with specialty skills in Human Resources and technology.

Other career responsibilities have involved:

  • responsibility for marketing and selling technology consulting services for a global HR Consulting Services firm
  • direction and day-to-day management of a North America-wide Customer Relations unit for a major Human Resources software and Payroll Outsourcing company
  • management of a start-up nationwide consulting unit for a $100M systems integration company
  • management of an $11M HR technology consulting business
  • establishment and overall direction of business programs and management of client interaction standards for a top vendor organization dealing with over 700 Human Resources and Financial clients
  • management of a National Client Services organization, at a leading software vendor, which included the management of high visibility accounts, training and courseware development, national Hotline, and product quality assurance
  • formulation of a strategic Human Resources Information Systems plan and management of its execution for a major nationwide brokerage firm
  • full management responsibility of a large scale team of technicians and end-users implementing new technology platforms and Human Resources functionality at a global financial institution
  • software and hardware evaluation, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.

Nov is currently on the San Francisco/Bay Area Chapter Board and the Association Board of IHRIM as past Chairman, having served seven years. Nov has served on a number of other Boards such as:

  • Chairman of the Board of the Peninsula Humane Society/SPCA
  • Board liaison to the Integral User Group
  • Board liaison to the Tesseract User Group

Program Co-Chair: John St. Germain

John St. Germain is a Regional Sales Manager with Taleo and has a proven track record consulting with many leading Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies. Since 1995, John has worked in both the Staffing Industry and the HR Technology Industry in various roles. He brings the experience of an agency recruiter, a corporate recruiter and a Regional Vice President of Staffing and Operations to Taleo and his Customers. John has been a member of SHRM since 1996 and has been a member of IHRIM since 2004. John has a BS in Finance from West Virginia University.


Program Co-Chair
: Lisa Hartley

Lisa Hartley has held several business development, strategy, and marketing roles during her 15 year career. At PeopleSoft Lisa was responsible for HCM revenue growth and brand awareness. She developed the HCM thought leadership forum that provided unique learning opportunities for HR professionals. Guest speakers included: Row Henson, Dr. Jeff Pfeffer, Dr. Dave Ulrich, Dr. John Sullivan, Jac Fitz Enz, Joseph Boyette, John Boudreau and many others. Lisa has written on the importance of HR metrics and has published papers including the ABC's of ROI and The ROI of Human Capital Management. She is currently the Director of Product Marketing at Taleo.

Lisa holds a BS from the University of the Pacific and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
