Mark your calendars for 2008!

The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter board met in mid-December to plan our meeting schedule for 2008. We plan to hold 3 meetings during 2008. The tentative dates and topics are listed below. We’ll communicate more information and firm dates as we get closer to each event. We look forward to seeing many of you at these meetings!

• April 29th – Web 2.0, Social Networking, and Other Tools to Know About
How are these tools and techniques affecting companies?
What does it mean for the HRIS professional?

• September – Assessment & Engagement in the 21st Century

• November – HR Trends at Yahoo!
We plan to reprise our HR Trends discussion session with a focus on what’s happening in HR and what those trends bode for 2009

Finally…Get Involved and become an IHRIM volunteer!

• Could you spare some time to work on an event?
• Do you have content and/or expertise that you can contribute to one of these topics?
• Would your company be a potential host for one of our meetings?

One of the great benefits of IHRIM is the ability to network locally with peers who have the same issues and are trying to meet similar challenges. Volunteering is an excellent way to make more contacts and broaden your own network.

If you have interest in getting involved or simply have questions about volunteering, please contact me directly and I’d be happy to tell you more.

So prepare yourself for an exciting year and opportunities to learn and interact with your Bay Area peers.

Sincerely,

Bruce Walton
President
The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Board
